Overview

The Age of Sail is a museum complex consisting of six display buildings, including a re-purposed 1854 Methodist Church, a uniquely built ship building, an original working blacksmith shop, 1908 lighthouse, wharf walkway and more. There is also a café, gift shop, archives and genealogy database, and a public space for meetings or rentals.

Professional hands-on exhibits, videos and interpretive tours help to interpret the history of the lumbering, shipbuilding and sailing history of the Parrsboro Shore as well as the communities that supported them.

Special activities are available for children and self-tour guides in French and German are available.

The museum is located in Port Greville, on an old shipyard site along a tidal river on Highway 2, three kilometres from Parrsboro in the Bay of Fundy & Annapolis Valley region.
