Rainbow Registered is Canada’s national accreditation for 2SLGBTQI+ safe and welcoming spaces developed by Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC) and Tourism HR. This unique program highlights Canada’s dedication to inclusivity within the tourism industry and beyond.

When you see a Rainbow Registered logo, you know the business or organization meets stringent standards to ensure 2SLGBTQI+ customers and visitors feel safe, welcomed, and accepted. The accreditation reviews businesses based on four crucial pillars: inclusive policies and practices, focused training, a commitment to inclusive leadership, and a culture of inclusivity.

Clean It Right

Clean It Right is a training program that provides awareness and education on cleaning with the goal of regaining consumer confidence. The program is designed to increase the safety of guests, visitors and the workforce in the Tourism industry. There are three custom modules to choose from:

• Hotels, Motels and Bed & Breakfasts
• Restaurants & Food Services
• Retail & Similar Operations

Operators who train all of their cleaning staff are designated as Certified Clean it Right Businesses.

Canada Select

Canada Select is an industry-led consumer-driven rating program providing visitors with nationally consistent standards of quality within categories of roofed accommodation. Canada Select uses a recognized star rating system, awarding up to 5 stars:

• One star: Modest Accommodations that meet basic standard of cleanliness, comfort, and safety.
• Two stars: Moderate Accommodations with additional facilities and some amenities.
• Three stars: Above Average Accommodations with a greater range of facilities, guest amenities, and services.
• Four stars: Exceptional Accommodations with an extensive range of facilities, guest amenities, and services.
• Five stars: Luxurious Accommodations, among the very best in the country, with an outstanding range of facilities, guest amenities, and services.

A ½ star is awarded to properties whose physical attributes reflect an enhanced quality for the rated level.

Camping Select

Camping Select inspects and rates participating campgrounds in two categories: Facility and Recreation. You will find two sets of stars for each Camping Select–rated campground. One reflects the excellence of the facility; the second denotes the standard of recreational activities.

• One star: Modest Campgrounds that meet basic standard of cleanliness, comfort, and safety.
• Two stars: Moderate Campgrounds with additional facilities and some amenities.
• Three stars: Above Average Campgrounds with a greater range of facilities, guest amenities, and services.
• Four stars: Exceptional Campgrounds with an extensive range of facilities, guest amenities, and services.
• Five stars: Luxurious Campgrounds, among the very best in the country, with an outstanding range of facilities, guest amenities, and services.

CAA/AAA

To be eligible for CAA/AAA Approval, establishments must meet basic requirements for cleanliness, comfort, and security, verified by unannounced evaluations by professional AAA inspectors. Every Diamond-designated property has met CAA/AAA’s standards for guest quality, cleanliness and condition.

Diamond Designations for Hotel Accommodations:
Quality of experience, range of amenities and level of hospitality

• Approved: Noteworthy by meeting the industry-leading standards of AAA inspections. Great for: Budget-friendly short stays.
• Three Diamond: Comprehensive amenities style and comfort level. Great for: Family travel.
• Four Diamond: Upscale style and amenities with the right touch of service. Great for: A romantic getaway.
• Five Diamond: World-class luxury, amenities and indulgence for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Great for: The ultimate in relaxation.
